One-Point Perspective Grid - Basic Shapes & Shadows

Summary

Learn to draw in one-point perspective. A one-point perspective drawing contains one vanishing point on a horizon line. Perspective is a fundamental principle in art.

Materials 

ruler, set square, paper, pencil, eraser

 

Process

  1. Construct a one-point perspective grid. 

  2. Draw a three-dimensional cube on the grid. Draw the cube near, far and floating.  

  3. After drawing the cubes, draw other basic forms in perspective such as cylinders and spheres. 

  4. Formulate the shadows and shade each object.
