Discussion Questions
What are your feelings toward Christmas? Do you like it? Why or why not?
Are you planning to give or receive any presents? Which do you prefer, giving or receiving?
Can you name some famous characters associated with Christmas?
What images or thoughts come to mind when you think of the Christmas holiday?
How does your family typically celebrate Christmas?
Are you familiar with the origins and history of this holiday?
What you do
Brainstorm: Brainstorm and sketch various ideas for your Christmas decorative sticker designs. Consider imagery related to your chosen theme.
Sketch: Create simple sketches for your Christmas decorative sticker. Keep the designs relatively straightforward as "deco pens" have thick tips and are not suited for intricate details.
Ink and Color: Choose several of your favorite ideas and outline them with a black permanent marker, then add color.
Black Outline: Place a sheet of clear film over your design and trace the outlines using a black "deco pen."
Allow to Dry: Once you've completed a design, set it aside to let the black lines dry. While it's drying, you can start outlining another design.
Color: Once the black outlines on your first design are dry enough, you can proceed to fill them in with glass deco pens.
Color the Second Design: Allow the colors on your first sticker to dry and then proceed to color in the black outlines of your second sticker.
